2024 International Plumbing Code

The 2024 International Codes® (I-Codes®) have undergone substantial formatting updates as part of the International Code Council’s (ICC) digital transformation strategy to enhance the user experience. These improvements deliver a cleaner, more modern appearance while increasing readability, usability, and sustainability.

Key formatting enhancements include:

• Single-column text layout with modernized fonts to improve readability

• QR codes replacing vertical margin sidebars and arrows, allowing more accurate identification of code changes

• Shaded table headers and notes to help users quickly locate tables and applicable information

• Grouped related content, positioning tables and figures immediately after their parent sections

• Book authentication and registration capability, enabling users to validate authenticity and register with ICC to receive incentives

The 2024 International Plumbing Code® (IPC®) establishes minimum regulations for plumbing systems and facilities while allowing the acceptance of new and innovative products, materials, and technologies. It also incorporates plumbing- and fixture-related accessibility provisions from the ICC A117.1 Accessibility Standard, making the 2024 IPC the most comprehensive and user-friendly plumbing code available.
